Pentlock was started by Michael Howard - Kyan in 1985 on return to the UK after 4 years in the Cape Town Office of Richard Ellis, the International Property Consultancy Group

Pentlock initially commenced activities as a property development company in 1985 and undertook the acquisition and refurbishment of the following luxury apartment schemes in Bath:

10 Beaufort East
10/11 Percy Place
18 Kensington Place
16 Kensington Place

In the early 1990’s due to the recession a decision was taken to commence general building contracting operations rather than continuing with our own schemes.

15 Macaulay Buildings - Refurbishment of entire building
Orchard House, Church Road, Combe Down - New 5 Bedroom Italianate Villa on site of old tennis court

The Sanctuary, Steeple Ashton – Phase 1 and 2 of stabilisation and restorative works to Grade 1 listed 700year old oak framed house

38 Sion Hill – Complete restoration of house and conversion of coach house

Uplands Farm – Restoration of farmhouse and barns complex to form a single dwelling

Bath Spa University – Main Reception, The Mansion House – Removal of Lift shaft and reinstatement of ornate plasterwork

Corsham Court – Restoration of Oriel window to principal facade

Combe Hay Parish Church – Reordering of Church to form disabled access, disabled WC and kitchen facilities, levelling of floors to aisle and nave

Esher House – Reordering of existing apartments and large extension to rear to allow for 2 further apartments

150 The High Street Marshfield – internal alterations and extension to courtyard

The Old Rectory, Dyrham – Conversion of old stables to residential accommodation

9 Cavendish Crescent – Complete restoration with new conservatory to rear

Bath Architects with whom we have built a good working relationship with include Watson, Bertram and Fell , S.M.Harris and Associates , Simon Morray-Jones, Edward Nash Partnership, Mitchell Taylor Workshop, Alan Hardiman and Associates, Adam Cloote and Associates

In 2010 Anthony McCallum MBE was appointed as Operations Director

Currently Pentlock employees total 9 and annual turnover is approximately £1,000,000 per annum

Pentlock’s Office is in the old Coach house in the Grounds of Combe Lodge, Michael’s House
